Part-Time Reception SEND Teaching Assistant
Reception | 1:1 SEND Support | Part-Time
We are looking for a caring, patient and proactive Teaching Assistant with Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) training to support a child who is joining Reception at a welcoming Church of England primary school.
This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working within Early Years and providing individualised support, helping a child to settle into school, develop their communication and access learning in a way that works for them.
The role
Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO, you will provide consistent, nurturing support. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering daily Speech and Language (SALT) interventions
- Supporting the planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum, tailored to the child's individual needs
- Adapting activities and learning to make the Reception curriculum accessible and engaging
- Helping to develop and adapt the classroom sensory space around the child's needs
- Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child and helping them feel safe and confident within school
- Liaising with parents, the class teacher and SENDCO to ensure a consistent approach
- Supporting the inclusive, caring environment of the school and being comfortable supporting its Christian ethos
Who we're looking for
Previous SALT training is essential for this role, as you will be responsible for delivering daily speech and language interventions with the child.
Experience within EYFS, SEND or 1:1 support would be highly beneficial. You will need to be patient, adaptable and confident in tailoring your approach around an individual child's communication, sensory and learning needs.
This is a part-time role, initially working five mornings per week. The school would also be willing to consider four mornings and one afternoon for the right person. The working pattern will be reviewed after the first four weeks.
If you're SALT trained and looking for a rewarding part-time role where you can make a genuine difference to a child's start at school, we'd love to hear from you.

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant
Full-time | Long-term | Runcorn
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and looking for a role where your skills will genuinely be valued?
Premier Education is recruiting for a qualified and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming school in the Runcorn area. This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils and knows how to provide the right balance of encouragement, structure and consistency.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Has good experience working within a school setting
- Is confident supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Can adapt learning and break activities down to help pupils access the curriculum
- Has strong behaviour management and can remain calm and consistent
- Is comfortable supporting pupils individually and in small groups
- Is reliable, proactive and able to quickly become part of a school team
This would particularly suit an experienced TA looking for a long-term role where they can really get to know the pupils, staff and routines of the school, rather than moving between day-to-day bookings.

SEND Teaching Assistant
Full-time | Long-term | Widnes
Already working with children with SEND and ready for a role where that experience really counts?
Premier Education is looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a long-term role at a school in Widnes.
We’re particularly keen to hear from people who have already built up hands-on experience supporting children with additional needs – whether that's through 1:1 support, SEND provision, mainstream schools or specialist settings.
You don't necessarily need years of qualifications behind you. If you've developed strong practical SEND experience and know how to build trust with children who need additional support, we'd really like to hear from you.
What we're looking for:
- Recent experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Confidence providing 1:1 and small-group support
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- A calm and patient approach when children are struggling
- Confidence adapting your support to the individual child
- Good understanding of boundaries, behaviour and safeguarding
- Reliability and consistency – particularly important for pupils who rely on familiar adults
- A relevant TA qualification is welcomed, but strong practical SEND experience will also be considered
This could be a great opportunity if you've been working across supply or shorter-term SEND roles and would now like the stability of a long-term position where you can properly get to know the pupils and become part of the school team.
Premier Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All applicants will be subject to our full registration and compliance procedures, including an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, we will also carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates. All candidates must be able to demonstrate their understanding of safeguarding and their responsibility to protect the welfare of children.

Experienced Teaching Assistant looking for more work across the Wirral?
Premier Education is looking to register experienced General and SEND Teaching Assistants as we receive a number of supply requirements from schools across the Wirral.
Our opportunities can range from general classroom support and intervention work to 1:1 SEND support, with a mixture of day-to-day, short-term and longer-term bookings available.

- Small-group work and interventions
- Supporting behaviour and helping pupils remain engaged with learning
- Adapting activities and providing additional support within the classroom

Who are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification and have recent experience working within a school.
However, we also recognise the value of strong hands-on experience. If you don't hold a formal TA qualification but have substantial, recent experience supporting children with SEND within schools or specialist education settings, we'd still be keen to hear from you.
Supply can be a great option if you want flexibility around the days you work, want to gain experience in different Wirral schools, or are looking for your next longer-term position.
