Assistant Faculty Leader - Humanities (History)

 

Assist the Faculty Leader to provide dynamic and inspirational leadership to the Global Faculty. Support with the development and implementation of key curriculum, department and whole school initiatives within the department area. Assisting to:

  • Ensure that the department delivers its objective of creating world class outcomes and experiences for its learners
  • Ensure that the strategies deployed within the department have impact
  • Standards of achievement: know accurately where every student in your department is in terms of their academic progression

Premier Education is currently working on behalf of a fabulous SEN provision in the Stockport area that is looking to appoint a Science Teacher to start after the Easter holidays until the Summer 2023. This role will be full-time and lasting until at least July with the potential for a permanent role as the school are recruiting for September.

The role would require the candidate to teach small groups of students in KS3, KS4 and Post 16 with. You would be teaching Science to the National Curriculum, which could include working towards Entry level and GCSE.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working with pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and have a proven track-record as a teacher specialising in Science. Most importantly, you must have a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development
  • Have experience of teaching young people with Autism or Special Educational Needs within the primary or secondary sector or have a specific interest in developing their teaching skills in a special school setting.
  • Have high expectations of young people, and a commitment to raising standards of attainment to ensure that they can achieve their full educational potential
  • Have experience of enhancement of pupil progress gains and raising attainment and achievement levels of all students
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs
  • Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve
  • Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs
  • Be able to build positive relationships with the class group, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis.
  • Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
  • Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development
