Science Teacher - 9 months Paternity cover

Premier Education is currently working on behalf of an SEN provision in the Stockport area that is looking to appoint a Science Teacher to cover a 9 month paternity leave which starts at the beginning of March and is full time.

Premier Education is currently supporting an outstanding' Specialist Provision in the Oldham area who require an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with Primary or secondary students who have a range of needs predominantly SEMH (social, emotional and mental health). Students present with challenging behaviours both physically and verbally and therefore, due to the nature of the role, candidates must be resilient, committed, and dedicated. The role is to start immediately and will be ongoing if successful.

Premier Education are working in partnership with a specialist SEND provision in Manchester who are responsible for the education of children and young people aged 16 - 25 years old with disabilities, complex needs and autism.

As a Learning Support Worker for this provision you will be expected to be comfortable providing personal care, working as part of a team and must have a solid understanding of working with those who have PMLD and Medical Needs.

The main aspects of the role are:
• To provide support and guidance to the young people by removing barriers to learning
• To contribute to all relevant aspects of planning, recording and evidencing progression in learning plans
• To be an active participant in supporting the timetable in all it's different contexts e.g. hydrotherapy, residential courses and other therapies / leisure facilities
• Liaising with families, carers and others as necessary and with regard for the confidentiality required by the employer

Ideal Candidates will:
• Have a good level of written and spoken English
• Hold min L2 Literacy and Numeracy
• Hold relevant experience / qualifications suited to supporting learners with additional needs
• Be able to work as part of a team
• Have a thorough understanding of what constitutes effective support for students with learning difficulties
