We are currently working with a specialist school in Manchester who are looking for a Level 3 teaching assistant to support their Primary aged students with SEND. The school is a specialist provider of education for children with Complex and Medical SEND. They also have additional needs such as ASC, SLD, MLD and PMLD. The role is full time and ongoing and is due to start as soon as possible.

The college is currently looking for learning support workers to start working with them in September, with an induction to the role to be held at the end of August.

As a Learning Support Worker for this provision you will be helping the pupils with their learning and ensuring they can access all of their activities during a college day. You would be expected to be comfortable providing personal care if required, working as part of a team and must have a solid understanding of working with those who have PMLD and Medical Needs.

The main aspects of the role are:

To provide support and guidance to the young people by removing barriers to learning
To contribute to all relevant aspects of planning, recording and evidencing progression in learning plans
To be an active participant in supporting the timetable in all it's different contexts e.g. hydrotherapy, residential courses and other therapies / leisure facilities
Liaising with families, carers and others as necessary and with regard for the confidentiality required by the employer
