KS3 Teaching Assistant – Full Time – Bolton

£106.80 - £110 per day
Full Time – 5 Days per Week

Are you a patient and encouraging Teaching Assistant who enjoys helping young people build confidence and stay engaged with their learning?

Premier Education is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Bolton for a Teaching Assistant to provide support to a neurodiverse pupil in KS3.

This is not a challenging behaviour role. The pupil is well behaved but benefits from having someone alongside them to provide reassurance, encouragement and gentle prompts to stay focused, complete their work and get the most from their lessons.

The school will also provide lunch every day for the successful candidate. 

The role:

• Supporting a KS3 pupil on a one-to-one basis

• Helping her remain focused and engaged during lessons

• Encouraging her to attempt and complete set work

• Providing prompts, reassurance and guidance where needed

• Supporting independence rather than completing work for her

• Liaising with teaching and SEND staff to provide consistent support

• Providing wider classroom support when appropriate

• Full time, Monday to Friday

• Ongoing role until July 2027
  
  
  

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or neurodiversity

• A calm, patient and encouraging approach

• The ability to build a positive relationship while maintaining appropriate boundaries

• Good spoken and written English

• Confidence supporting learning at KS3 level

• Secondary school experience is desirable

This would particularly suit someone who is warm, positive and motivating and understands how to encourage a young person without doing the work for them.
