Nursery nurse and nursery assistant jobs
Excellent nursery staff are always in demand. We place them in private day nurseries, pre-schools and school nursery and reception classes across the North West.
Where nursery work takes you
Good nursery nurses and nursery assistants are always in demand, and the work is more varied than people expect. Placements come up in private day nurseries and pre-schools, and in school based nursery and reception classes where you are supporting teachers directly.
Lengths vary just as much: a part day or full day at short notice, a short term placement of a few days or weeks, or longer term maternity and sickness cover that can run for months. Early Years is one of our founding specialisms, so these are roles we fill constantly rather than occasionally.
Settings we place into
Early Years is one of the three sectors we specialise in.
Private day nurseries
Full and part day placements, short notice cover and longer term contracts.
School nursery and reception
Supporting EYFS teachers in school based nursery classes and reception.
Maternity and sickness cover
Longer term placements covering absence, often for a term or more.

Early Years is where we started
Nursery and Early Years work has been part of Premier since 2001, which is why these roles come up constantly rather than occasionally.

What qualifications do I need for nursery work?
Many settings look for a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, and holding one widens what we can offer you. We also place nursery assistants where relevant experience matters most.
Do you place in private nurseries as well as schools?
Yes. We work with private day nurseries and pre-schools as well as school nursery and reception classes.
Can I get long term nursery work rather than day-to-day?
Yes. Maternity and long term sickness cover regularly comes up and can run for a term or longer. Tell your consultant that is what you want.
How am I paid for nursery placements?
The same as all our staff: weekly by BACS every Friday, a week in arrears, with tax, National Insurance and holiday pay handled by our payroll team.
