Premier Education is recruiting an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant for a long-term 1:1 support role with a EYFS child with severe learning difficulties at a school near Chapel-en-le-Frith in the High Peak.

The position is 5 days per week, 8:30am–3:45pm, and is expected to be a long-term role, subject to funding being confirmed and continuing.

We are looking for a patient, caring and experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident providing individual support to a young child with significant additional needs.

Due to the location of the school, applicants must have access to their own car and be able to drive to the setting.

The Role:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a 4-year-old child

• Supporting a child with severe learning difficulties

• Helping the pupil access appropriate learning activities throughout the school day

• Supporting communication, interaction and engagement

• Encouraging independence and helping the child develop appropriate skills

• Providing a consistent, nurturing and structured approach

• Supporting the child's emotional, social and educational development

• Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals

• Following individual support plans and strategies

• Providing consistent support 5 days per week

Candidate Requirements:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential

• Previous experience working within a UK school or education setting

• Experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties or significant SEND is highly desirable

• Previous 1:1 experience would be advantageous

• Patient, caring, resilient and able to provide consistent support

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Reliable and able to commit to 5 days per week

• Must be able to drive and have access to a car due to the school's location

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

We are looking for a caring, patient and proactive Teaching Assistant with Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) training to support a child who is joining Reception at a welcoming Church of England primary school.

This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working within Early Years and providing individualised support, helping a child to settle into school, develop their communication and access learning in a way that works for them.

The role

Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCO, you will provide consistent, nurturing support. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering daily Speech and Language (SALT) interventions
• Supporting the planning and delivery of a bespoke curriculum, tailored to the child's individual needs
• Adapting activities and learning to make the Reception curriculum accessible and engaging
• Helping to develop and adapt the classroom sensory space around the child's needs
• Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child and helping them feel safe and confident within school
• Liaising with parents, the class teacher and SENDCO to ensure a consistent approach
• Supporting the inclusive, caring environment of the school and being comfortable supporting its Christian ethos

Who we're looking for

Previous SALT training is essential for this role, as you will be responsible for delivering daily speech and language interventions with the child.

Experience within EYFS, SEND or 1:1 support would be highly beneficial. You will need to be patient, adaptable and confident in tailoring your approach around an individual child's communication, sensory and learning needs.

This is a part-time role, initially working five mornings per week. The school would also be willing to consider four mornings and one afternoon for the right person. The working pattern will be reviewed after the first four weeks.
