Teaching Assistant – Year 4

Location: New Mills Area
Start Date: Summer Term
Contract: Until 22nd July
Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday, except Thursday afternoons)

Premier Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in the New Mills area seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support within Year 4 for the Summer Term.

This role will involve providing classroom support as well as delivering targeted intervention work to support pupils’ progress through to the end of the academic year on 22nd July.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within a Year 4 classroom

  • Delivering small group and 1:1 intervention sessions

  • Assisting with literacy and numeracy support

  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required

  • Helping to maintain a positive and well-managed learning environment

  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider staff team

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary setting

  • Experience supporting KS2 pupils, ideally Year 4

  • Confidence delivering small group interventions

  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
