KS1 Teaching Assistant - Part Time
Premier Education are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a KS1 pupil with special educational needs. The student is well behaved but does need some assistance with personal care and when using the bathroom.
This is a part-time, temporary position starting from 9th March through to the end of the summer term pending additional funding. This would be perfect for someone who has their own childcare and school drop off responsibilities as the hours fit nicely within school hours.
Providing consistent 1:1 support within a Year 1 classroom
Supporting a pupil with medical and personal care/toileting needs
Ensuring the child’s safety, dignity and wellbeing at all times
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Supervising and supporting during lunchtime
Have experience working in a primary school setting (EYFS/KS1 desirable)
Be confident supporting pupils with medical and personal care needs
Demonstrate a nurturing, patient and calm approach
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
Be reliable and committed to maintaining consistency for the child
Relevant training (e.g. Paediatric First Aid, Moving & Handling, Medical Needs training) would be advantageous, though not essential.
