SEND Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant (1:1 & General Support)

Location: WN7 
Days: Monday – Friday
Start Date: January 2026

Premier Education is working in partnership with a secondary school in the WN7 area to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role providing a combination of 1:1 support and general classroom support across the school.

This opportunity would suit someone who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and who can work flexibly to meet the needs of both students and staff.

Role Responsibilities:

· Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
· Offering general classroom support across the school as required
· Assisting teaching staff with learning activities and classroom management
· Supporting pupils with personal care and mobility where necessary
· Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Candidate Requirements:

· Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
· Experience supporting pupils with SEND is highly desirable
· Hoist training is strongly preferred (or willingness to undertake training)
· A caring, patient, and proactive approach
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS certificate
· Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
