School Business Manager

School Business Manager Premier Education are recruiting a School Business Manager for a long term position in Manchester. This role we have is 5 days a week working in a SEND High school. The role may become a permanent position also.
The position of school business manager is both rewarding and challenging, being a valued member of staff in schools.
The successful candidates will work alongside the Headteacher and Governors. The responsibility and the role will include the financial management, HR management, facilities and property management and administration management for the school. Your work can also include working with the Head teacher and teaching staff, from a business perspective, to support in the schools learning objectives.
The school business managers we are looking for will need to have previous experience of financial and budget management, teamed with a good knowledge of the education sector. You should also have good working knowledge of payroll, pensions, HR and premises/facilities management.
Experience and Qualifications
·A relevant professional qualification including CIPFA, CIMA, CSBM, BSc.
·Experience of working within schools.
·Experience of management systems such as SIMS and FMS
·Experience of financial and budget management including month/year end reporting, HR, payroll and pensions.
·Experience of managing accounts and of developing and maintaining strong financial controls. Roles and responsibilities are to include;
·Consulting with the Senior Leadership Team and Governors to prepare a realistic and balanced budget for school activity.
·Use the agreed budget to actively monitor and control performance to achieve value for money.
·Maintain a strategic financial plan that will indicate the trends and requirements of the school development plan and will forecast future year budgets.
·Manage the payroll services for all school staff including the management of pension schemes and associated services.
·Responsible for the maintenance and updating of the Single Central Record.
·Manage recruitment, performance management, appraisal and development for all Administrative, Premises, and IT staff.
·Alongside the Academy Finance Director, ensure that all recruitment, appraisal, staff development, grievance, disciplinary and change management policies and procedures comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
