1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stockport Area
Start Date: 8th June
Contract: Until end of the academic year
Hours: 3 full days and 2 mornings per week
Premier Education is working in partnership with a primary school in the Stockport area seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil until the end of the academic year. in KS2.This role requires a specialist SEN TA who is confident supporting children with a range of additional needs and can build positive, consistent relationships within a nurturing school environment.
Role Overview:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
- Supporting a child with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), SALT (Speech and Language), and behavioural needs
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team
- Delivering tailored support strategies to encourage engagement and progress
- Helping to create a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
- Strong understanding of SEMH, behavioural, and speech and language needs
- A resilient, patient, and consistent approach
- Ability to build strong relationships and maintain professional boundaries
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
