Premier Education is currently working on behalf of an SEN provision in the Oldham area that is looking to appoint a Science Teacher for a mixed KS3, KS4 class for students with ASC and Mild/ Moderate learning difficulties.
The school will consider NQTs or experienced secondary teachers wishing to further their teaching career within a SEND setting.
·Have specific experience/interest in working with children and young people with SEND and Autism
·Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire children and young peoples' learning and development.
·To have knowledge and understanding of autism and how children and young people with autism learn
·To use your knowledge of ASC strategies to adapt learning to meet the needs of all children and young people.
·To have an up to date understanding of the Science KS3/4 National Curriculum and be able to adapt learning to meet the needs of children and young people in KS3/KS4 who are working towards Science GCSE depending on ability and stage.
·To be able to lead and deliver the national curriculum in English as an area of expertise, and be competent in delivering other national curriculum subjects to ensure a broad and balanced curriculum is provided within the Nurture class.
·To be able to use a wide range of communication tools to communicate with children and young people across the school
·Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet the needs of individual children and young people inline with their Education and health care plans.
·Present with the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with children and young people with a range of complex needs
·Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, children and young people, parents and the wider community
·Have an experience of enhancement of progress gains and raising attainment and achievement in all children and young people
·Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve
·Be hardworking, organised and proactive in their professional development.
