This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small, specialist alternative provision setting in the Stockport area, supporting pupils who require a more personalised, nurturing approach to learning. With low pupil numbers and a close-knit team, the school provides an environment where relationships, wellbeing and progress sit at the heart of everything they do.

Premier Education are seeking a confident and compassionate Headteacher /Head of School to provide clear leadership, strategic direction and day-to-day support to both staff and pupils, ensuring outstanding outcomes for every learner.

The role

As Head of School, you will:

• Lead and motivate a dedicated team of teaching and support staff
• Oversee teaching, learning and curriculum delivery across core subjects
• Ensure safeguarding, compliance and regulatory standards are consistently met
• Support pupils with additional needs, emotional challenges and complex backgrounds
• Build strong relationships with families, professionals and external agencies
• Shape the future direction of the school while protecting its nurturing ethos

The ideal candidate

You will bring:

• QTS or QTLS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree
• Proven leadership experience in education (Head of Department, SLT or Headteacher level)
• A strong understanding of alternative provision and SEND
• Experience managing and developing staff teams
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
• A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people
