Teacher of Geography

  • Start date: 11th November 2024
  • End date: 19th December (potential to continue until July 2025)

Premier Education is currently recruiting on behalf of an excellent secondary school who are looking for an excellent Geography Teacher to join their Humanities Department from January.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achievement and progress throughout their career; and will want to contribute to the wider-school community. There will be a responsibility of planning, teaching and assessment as well as contribution to planning meetings. There will be a teaching commitment of Geography KS3-5, so experience of teaching GCSE and A Level Geography is essential

Geography at this school is a lively and thriving department staffed by four committed subject specialists. All members of the department have individual and effective styles of delivery, and the department meets regularly to discuss issues and to share good practice.

The department aims to inform, excite and energise students with a passion for explaining everything that is outside their windows. Members in the department will teach a range of year groups from 7-11 with potential to teach to A Level too. Currently, Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and Lower Sixth have field trips which contribute to their learning in the classroom.

As part of your role, you would be expected to provide feedback to pupils and families via Parent’s Evenings, Written Reports and Grades, as directed by the Reporting and Assessment schedule. Attend and contribute to Department meetings. Create a safe, positive and disciplined learning environment, where mutual respect and understanding are valued.

This Secondary School based in Cheshire boasts excellent leadership and management throughout. The students have a positive approach to school life and this is reflected in both the progress made by the pupils; as well as their behaviour on a day to day basis. Teachers have strong subject knowledge and endeavour to meet the needs of every child.

To be considered for this position you will need:

  • A teaching degree with QTS;
  • Excellent subject knowledge;
  • Have recent experience of delivering KS3/4 Geography;
  • Have a proven track-record;
  • To be a passionate classroom practitioner who sets high expectations of pupils at all times;
  • Help foster a culture of high expectations and achievement across the school;
  • Raise achievement through motivating, challenging and inspiring students;
  • Both experienced Teachers and NQTs are welcomed to apply.
