1:1 Teaching Assistant

Bolton area

Part time temporary and long term

12 hours per week spread across the week

Supporting a pupil in Early Years

SEND experience is essential

We are looking for a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with SEND in the early years. The pupil has recently relocated from overseas and will require help with speech, language and communication as well as helping them to settle into a new school environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to a child's life within a supportive and nurturing school environment.

The role is part time l for 12 hours spread across the week.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 learning support to a pupil in the early years
  • Assist with helping child manage day, assist with learning and play
  • Support the student’s engagement, independence, and confidence.
  • Work closely with subject teachers and pastoral staff to meet individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to wider classroom activities where required.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working within a primary school setting is strongly desired as well experience supporting children with SEND
  • Confident supporting pupils with speech and language barriers or EAL
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification (or above) in a relevant area is essential.
  • Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with young people.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual needs.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
