Primary Teacher – KS1 (Maternity Cover)

Location: Stockport
Start Date: February
Contract: Full-time, temporary (maternity cover)

Premier Education is working with a good primary school in the Stockport area seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teacher to cover a maternity leave starting in February.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school with a strong team ethos and a positive learning environment. The role would suit an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a well-established setting.

The Role

  • Full class teaching responsibility within Key Stage 1
  • Planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Creating a nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and senior leaders
  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning, and pupil wellbeing

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has recent experience teaching in KS1
  • Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Is reliable, organised, and committed to high-quality teaching
  • Has an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Has the legal right to work in the UK

Pay

£140 – £220 per day, dependent on experience and qualifications (AWR will apply)
