About the role
We are seeking reliable, caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to work across nurseries and early years settings in Macclesfield and the surrounding areas from September 2026.
A variety of flexible placements may be available, including daily supply, short-term assignments and long-term opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Support children’s learning and development through engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Help provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment
- Assist with daily nursery routines, including mealtimes and personal care
- Observe children’s progress and share relevant information with senior staff
- Support positive behaviour and children’s emotional wellbeing
- Prepare activities, learning materials and play areas
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies
Requirements
- Recent experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- A relevant childcare or early years qualification is desirable
- A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- A caring, patient and proactive approach
- The ability to engage and motivate young children
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A current enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
