We are working with a lovely primary school in the Walkden area who are looking for a confident and reliable HLTA or Primary Teacher to join their team from February half term until at least April, with the possibility of the role continuing to Summer.

This role will be mainly TA-based, supporting pupils across EYFS and KS1, but will also involve covering whole classes on an ad-hoc basis when required. It would suit either:

  • An experienced HLTA/TA3 looking for a long-term role with class cover, or
  • A qualified Primary Teacher who is happy in a more flexible, lower-pressure role.

The school are looking for someone who is nurturing, proactive and happy to be a consistent, reliable presence within the team.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an HLTA or a qualified Primary Teacher

Premier Education is looking for excellent Primary Teachers to work in schools on a supply basis in Warrington and Halton.

Supply teaching is an excellent and practical way to achieve a better work-life balance and get a taste of local schools in your area. Many of our teachers have left permanent employment in order to re-gain life outside of the classroom, and they are flourishing! Supply work is offered on a daily, short-term and long-term basis. We can then also consider you for permanent positions if that’s a goal for you. You will have the opportunity to work across EYFS - KS2 depending on your experience and preferences.

We are particularly looking for candidates with the following specialisms:

  • Upper KS2
  • EYFS

Requirements

· Right to Work in the UK

· UK Qualified Teacher Status (evidence will be required)

· Recent experience teaching in UK Primary schools (placement experience is sufficient for ECTs)

· Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills

· Reliability

· A clear Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

Pay:

£120 - £200 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications. AWR will apply)

The role offers a supportive handover period before the half-term break, ensuring a smooth transition for both teacher and pupils.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced practitioner to make a real impact in a caring and inclusive school environment.

Role Details:

· Start date: 9th February 2026 (includes one-week handover before half term)
· Initial contract to the end of the academic year (July 2026)
· Potential extension from September 2026 to March 2027
· Half-termly reviews throughout the placement

Candidate Requirements:

· Experienced teacher – not suitable for ECTs
· Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally in Years 5 and 6
· Strong understanding of KS2 SATs expectations and curriculum standards
· Demonstrates excellent relational practice and a trauma-informed approach to classroom management
· Good understanding of SEND, particularly ASD and ADHD, with experience supporting classes with a high percentage of additional needs
· Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS and uphold safeguarding responsibilities in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
