Job Title: Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and vibrant primary school in Macclesfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment, contributing to the academic and personal development of young children. The role is full-time and temporary, with the possibility of extension depending on future needs. The successful candidate will start in October.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups under the direction of the class teacher.
- Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Support pupils with learning activities in the classroom, ensuring their understanding and engagement.
- Contribute to the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) for children with additional needs.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtimes, and during out-of-class activities.
- Work closely with teachers and other staff to monitor and track pupil progress.
- Support in managing classroom behavior and promoting positive behavior management strategies.
- Assist in the delivery of literacy and numeracy programs.
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupils’ progress and assist in maintaining records of achievements and behavior.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Experience working in a primary school setting, ideally with children of different abilities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive, patient, and caring attitude.
- Ability to manage and engage with children in a respectful and nurturing manner.
- Good understanding of child development and the primary school curriculum.
- Basic knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Desirable Skills:
- Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
- First Aid qualification.
