Design & Technology (Engineering & Construction) Teacher
Rate of Pay:
I am recruiting on behalf of a client secondary school in South Manchester who require a DT Teacher to start in January 2019 until the end of the academic year teaching Design Technology and BTEC Construction and Vocational Engineering across the age and ability range including Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 as applicable.
Main Purpose of Job:
â¢ To teach Design Technology, BTEC Construction and Vocational Engineering across the age and ability range including Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 as applicable.
â¢ To ensure students make good to outstanding progress in this subject.
â¢ To use excellent subject knowledge to teach both GCSE/BTEC and other course content to a diverse student population.
â¢ To use technology to support teaching which is engaging and exciting.
â¢ To plan lessons which match the full range of learnersâ needs.
â¢ To use regular and thorough and accurate assessment that informs learners how to improve, using the Manchester Academy Assessment for Learning Policy, to contribute to student progress.
â¢ To plan and deliver well informed and engaging lessons according to the Manchester Academy Teaching and Learning Framework.
â¢ To manage the learning of students in a secure and friendly environment in which they can thrive.
â¢ To use data to monitor and evidence student progress.
â¢ To be responsible for the health and safety of students who are in your care.
â¢ To provide data on the progress of students taught.
â¢ To ensure all students assigned make at least the expected level of progress due to good teaching.
â¢ To motivate, support and challenge students to ensure that they have good attitudes to learning.
â¢ To contribute to the outcomes of School Initiatives.
â¢ To contribute to extra-curricular provision.
â¢ To actively support the UL and Manchester Academy ethos of âThe Best in Everyoneâ and âThe MA Wayâ.
â¢ To demonstrate professional characteristics at all times with all stakeholders, colleagues, students and parents.
â¢ To contribute to the Academyâs continuous improvement.
â¢ To attend meetings and professional development and professional development activities as required.
What you will need:
â¢ A degree or equivalent in the subject to be taught (Design and Technology, Construction, Engineering).
â¢ A confident and competent user of ICT
â¢ Ability to use an interactive whiteboard as a teaching tool
â¢ Experience of teaching a diverse student body.
â¢ Good knowledge of GCSE qualifications.
â¢ Experience of delivering GCSE qualifications.
â¢ Experience of teaching Design and Technology subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4
â¢ Excellent rate of pay: Â£100-Â£150 per day (depending on experience).
â¢ Close to good transport links.
â¢ January start (2019)
â¢ Long term placement (up until end of academic year)
