Vetting Procedures

We ensure extensive and rigorous quality control in all aspects of our recruitment process. All of our candidates go through a thorough vetting procedure in line with the standards set by the DCSF and we are committed to the safety and security of the children. Each person who registers with us completes a comprehensive registration process. In order to show our commitment to good practice we became holders of the DCSF quality mark in 2008.

Recent guidelines published by the DCSF on Safeguarding Children in Education now place a responsibility on schools to keep a record of when checks on staff were made and by whom. In order to adhere to these guidelines and assist schools with this task we will forward a compliance report which clearly states when each of the following checks were most recently conducted:

  • In depth face to face Interview
  • List 99 check (renewed annaully)
  • Enhanced CRB check
  • Identity check
  • Medical Check
  • Qualification Check
  • GTCE check (renewed annually)
  • A minimum of two recent professional references

From November 2010 all new employees who want to work with children or vulnerable adults must register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). After this date it will be illegal for them to work with those groups unless they are ISA registered.
