Safeguarding Course

The protection of children and vulnerable adults is one of the top priorities for everyone involved in a learning environment.

Every school or college has a duty to ensure that staff receive child protection training, as a minimum, every three years.

This 2 hour CPD accredited eLearning course has been designed for people who are new to working with children and young people or those who need an up to date refresher as part of their on going professional development. This course has been written by leading experts and uses video, audio and interactive elements and includes the updated ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education 2016’ government statutory guidance.

During this course you will cover 6 modules:

  1. Safeguarding Children and Young People: An Overview
  2. The Law: Legislation and the Legal Framework
  3. Child Abuse: Categories of Abuse and Recognising the Signs of Abuse
  4. Keeping Children Safe Online: An Introduction to E Safety
  5. What to Do: Dealing with Disclosures and Referring Concerns
  6. Prevent: Preventing Radicalisation and Extremism

After completing and passing this course you will receive an accredited UK Safeguarding Certificate.

Cover Supervisor Training – Level 1 (CS-AF)

This 90 minute E Learning workshop provides new and experienced Cover Supervisors with the essential knowledge and skills required to be a success in the classroom! Delivered by an experienced school senior leader using video, audio and interactive elements.

You will cover these modules:

  • Module 1 – Setting the Scene. Includes: What is a Cover Supervisor? Entry requirements, Key education terminology and Types of schools.
  • Module 2 – Safeguarding. Includes: What is safeguarding? What is Child Protection? How to deal with a referral and Different types of abuse.
  • Module 3 – Behaviour Management. Includes: Why children misbehave? Developing positive relationships with students and Behaviour management techniques.
  • Module 4 – An Effective Cover Supervisor. Includes: How to deliver an effective cover lesson, Understanding lesson plans and Useful hints and tips.

Premier Education On-Line CPD

At Premier we are keen to ensure our teachers are kept up to date with CPD and in order to do so have introduced a new range of online CPD courses. Each one except Advanced Safeguarding, is free for our existing Premier staff and available to use and complete in your own time. The full course list is below. A Guide to Being an Effective Supply Teacher

An Introduction To Early Years

This course is aimed at newly qualified teachers, support staff, or teachers moving to a different year group who want to understand all about the Early years and the Foundation Stage. An Introduction To Phonics

Phonics is a way of teaching children how to read and write. It helps children hear, identify and use different sounds that distinguish one word from another in the English language.

Whether you are a Teacher, Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor, working with and getting the very best out of all children – including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities is a pre requisite. This course provides you with an overview of SEND.

Behaviour Management Training – Level 1 (Secondary focused)

Managing student behaviour is one of the most challenging aspects of working with children in schools.  However, it doesn’t have to be! This 60 minute eLearning module is mainly aimed at those in the Secondary sector although some aspects of primary behaviour Management are covered. We will demystify behaviour management into a simple step by step guide for building respect, developing professional working relationships and growing your confidence in dealing with potentially difficult situations.

Behaviour Management Training – Primary Level 1

Managing student behaviour is one of the most challenging aspects of working with children in schools.  However, it doesn’t have to be! This short eLearning course will take you through key strategies and techniques for managing pupil behaviour. Your course instructor is an experienced primary school teacher with many years spent in the classroom managing student behaviour.

British Values

The UK is changing.  The population is growing at an unprecedented rate which has raised concerns about the amount of net migration. Although the arrival of overseas visitors in many cases should be embraced, the government have become concerned of the impact on British Values. As a result, in 2014 the Department for Education published guidance for schools on promoting these values to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.

If you are from overseas and are considering a move to teach in UK schools then this is the course for you. Completing the 5 modules will provide you with a clear understanding of the UK education system with a specific focus on the qualifications necessary to teach in UK schools, safeguarding arrangements, behaviour management techniques and an overview the Early Years, Primary and Secondary curriculum.
